Cassandra Oliver, a small town girl with big dreams, left Vermont with nothing but hope for a better future and a job waiting for her as a nanny in Boston. She knew this move would be life changing in so many ways. Having spent her childhood shuttled from one family to another; every decision made for her - Cassie made a promise to herself, that when she was on her own, she would be the one in control and she would allow no one to make her think differently.

“My happiness does not come from how much is in my bank account; it is the arms that hold me at night that make me far richer than anyone I know.”

For Sakis Carras, one of the most powerful, wealthiest and dangerous men on the East Coast, the words spoken by his friend haunted him. His successful business empire, which he started from the ground up, was everything he had worked so hard for and he was living the American Dream. Sakis controlled his empire with no apologies or regrets - until he met Cassandra. Letting her into his life, Sakis realized quickly that he had met his match in every way and he learned the hard way that she could not be so easily controlled.

This was a new author to me and I was actually quite surprised by the book. There are various opinions in the reviews but I thought I would just go for it and purchase. I really enjoyed the book to be honest. The sex is very low key. It is not hard core at all. The book is has some twists that keep you interested. I loved Cassie & Sakis. I enjoyed the fact that the hero was not a typically CEO and in fact deals in some very unusual business dealings. It was also enjoyable that Sakis came from a Greek background as opposed to an American or English background. I really really liked his bodyguard Stephen and would love to read a book about his life. I want him to get his HEA.
The reason why I do not give the full 5 stars on this book is while there is a HEA, I found the ending to be a bit rushed to be honest. Whilst I love my books to be in 1 book only, I really felt that the couple could have done with a novella to help round off their time or even have the book split into two. I just felt that there could have been more "padding" to their story together. Overall a good read and I will certainly look into other books from this same author.

The best and rewarding story I have read in along time. I would recommend this book to everyone to read and enjoy as I have.
This book was an accident for me and I'm so glad I made the mistake. This book was well written from beginning to end It had my attention. It was some twist and turns in there that kept it interesting you will enjoy this book. Awesome..
It was pretty good. Not sure how I feel about all the men being in love with her that was the only weird thing. I liked all the characters.
I just picked this book up since I was in the mood for a mob story. I love stories about the poor girl with no family who moves to a new town and captures the eye of a mobster.

Cassie moves to Boston. She visits a pizzeria frequently where she catches the eye of a man Sakis. Sakis is part of the Greek mob. Cassie is innocent and really does not know much about Sakis and his business, but she is not stupid either. She speaks her mind and that is what catches Sakis's eye.

What did not work for me.

SPOILERS AHEAD

I loved the first half of this book. I loved Sakis and his right hand man, Stephan. But there were times then that I wanted Cassie to be with Stephan more than Sakis. On her birthday he had Stephan, his bodyguard, spend the day with her. Stephan was the one that would have to tell Sakis to go after Cassie when she was upset. Sakis may have been alpha at his job but he was not an alpha when it came to Cassie. There were times when I thought Cassie would open her eyes and be with Stephan instead of Sakis, but Cassie only had eyes for Sakis. This is not a love triangle. At no time in the story did Cassie even hint of liking another man. I just felt for a mobster love story, Sakis was pretty weak when it came to their relationship. There were also times where Cassie acted a little immature like with her friendship with Emily who tended to annoy me.<
It was off to a good start until it was hard to understand who was talking in the book it would jump from one character to the next. And did everybody love cassie?! Every guy wanted her it was annoying. And Sakis..what kind of man is he. He was barely around! Stephen was there for her more then anyone else. She should of been with him! He was so sweet. This book could of been better if I actually felt the love story and maybe got more of there background, and It didn't jump back and forth
Kelly Ilebode is a new author to me, but as soon as I finished reading this book, I instantly bought another one of hers.

I was intrigued as Kelly lives near me and I wanted to gain some insight into her writing style and development of characters. I loved her character Cassandra Oliver, a small town girl from Vermont with big dreams. Her first job in Boston is as a nanny and it doesn't turn out quite as she expected. Lonely and without many options, she befriends a local man who owns a pizza place where her life takes a dramatic turn. Enter Sakis, a powerful and handsome man, but being in control of an empire that isn't quite legitimate his life and those around him are under constant surveillance and threat.Sakis is definitely an alpha male and Cassandra is no wilting flower. I enjoyed the clashes and battles between the two tremendously. I will definitel'y be reading more of Kelly IIebode' books.
HOLY COW...this is one of THE BEST books I have EVER read. It was astonishing! I can only hope, beg, plead that this book becomes part of a series and is not a standalone. Please, please, pretty please. We have the bodyguard, her new friend, the ATF agent. Holy cow she has a wonderful array of characters to draw from. How this couple REALLY navigates the honest word. This was a solid and creative story. The characters were incredibly interesting. I know that in the epilogue the author seemed to wrap everything up in a neat little bow but I am begging Ms. Kelly to seriously consider a sequel. This was an absolutely wonderful story...perfection.
